Lexington Man Accused of Threatening to Kill HS Students

Lexington, S.C. (WOLO)– Officers with the Lexington Police Department say Christopher Raines is charged with Unlawful Communication.

Police say Raines, who also performs as a musician under the name AJ Blues, made a series of threatening posts on his social media pages.

In the posts, investigators say Raines makes several threats of violence against students and also made reference to students being put in body bags.

In a statement released Monday afternoon, Lexington School Dist. 1 superintendent Dr. Greg Little said, “The district’s number one priority as a school district is the safety and security of every child who walks through our doors. When parents send their children to our schools they entrust those children to our care. We believe Mr. Raines’ conduct over the last year has comprised our students’ safety and well-being.”

Raines is scheduled to appear in bond court Tuesday morning.
