Vista Guild: Downtown Businesses Not Affected After Shooting

Its “Business as usual in the Vista.

Members of the Vista Guild say not much has changed since Saturday’s shooting. The group says they’re top priority is making sure residents and visitors feel safe.

“We have been business as usual,”  Meredith Atkinson, executive director of Vista Guild said. “Things are going fine. Business doesn’t seem to be affected but what we want to make sure is that everyone coming to the Vista, whether it be today or later this week feel very safe and very comfortable. That is our job right now to make sure that is the case.”

Atkinson said Columbia Police have, and will continue to have a strong presence in that area.
