Police: Teen Started Fire In Front Of Firefighters

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)  Columbia police say 19 year old Alexander Petrillo is charged with arson after firefighters say they saw him set fire to a stack of newspapers in the lobby of a downtown apartment complex.

Investigators say fire crews initially responded to The Hub on Main Street just before 3:00 am Tuesday morning and discovered a small fire near the elevator on the 2nd floor.

Police say when he was confronted by firefighters Petrillo admitted setting the fires.

No one was injured and no significant damage was reported.
