“Zombie Brides” Protest Against Graham-Cassidy Healthcare Bill

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)- Protesters dressed as zombie brides gathered outside Senator Lindsey Graham’s office Monday to have their voices heard.

The group Invisiable Midlands organized the protest in hopes to speak with Graham.

“We’re frustrated to the point where we’re dressed like Zombie brides to try to get him to come talk to us,” Indivisible Midlands Co-Chair , Julie Edwards said. “Or since he’s a bachelor, marry us so we can get his healthcare.”

Edwards said the group dressed as zombie brides because the bill keeps dying and coming back to life. Protesters got to speak with people who represent Graham inside his office but still came up short.

Protesters say they feel like they’re not being heard.

“We decided that we needed to do something different, unique, and eye catching to hopefully get a chance to speak with our Senator,” Edwards said. “Unfortunately we were not given that opportunity.”

The new healthcare bill, Graham-Cassidy, needs to get passed before it’s September 30th deadline.

“When it comes to Obamacare, if you don’t stop the bleeding it is going to basically collapse,” Graham said Monday. “This is not the last chance. This is the best chance!”

Grahams’ bill one that these protesters say will do more harm than good.

“I want the Senator to know that he is putting my life at risk and so many people’s lives at risk in South Carolina,” Edwards said.

“They are not looking at their constituents and the needs of the people,”
