New Chester County tire plant to bring 1,700 jobs, Giti says

RICHBURG, S.C. (WOLO) – Leaders will gather in Richburg next week to celebrate the completion of global tire company, Giti Tire’s, first factory on U.S. soil.

The company said the new 1.7 million square-foot facility will eventually create 1,700 jobs – which it said is a part of Walmart’s promise to buy an additional $250 billion in products supporting American jobs by 2023.

Richburg is a town with a couple hundred residents in Chester County, located just off I-77.

On Wednesday, October 4, S.C. Governor Henry McMaster, Giti Chairman Enki Tan and Walmart President and CEO Greg Foran will gather at the new plant to celebrate its creation.
