Scarlet Fever Cases Up
(WOLO) —- Medical researchers say they are seeing a mysterious rise in cases if scarlet fever across England and East Asia.
The bacterial disease usually affects children and produces a bright red rash covering most of the body. It also develops in people with strep throat.
Scientists reported 20 thousand cases in 2016 that they say is steadily rising, but so far they have no idea why. Now they are asking doctors to be on the lookout for symptoms and new cases.
