COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – The holidays can be a stressful time for anyone, but especially for those of you taking care of a loved one with a memory degradation disease, such as Alzheimer’s or Dementia.
The Alzheimer’s Association of South Carolina stopped by Good Morning Columbia to share a special DIY gift idea for you to make for any friends or family suffering from the debilitating disease.
A “fidget apron” or “busy hands” apron is an apron that has different stimuli attached, including buttons hanging from yarn, small zippers and faux fur. It’s meant to help calm a dementia patient who might be afraid or experiencing anxiety.
