Without Christian Brown, LR rallies to beat Hammond at MLK Bash

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Lower Richland surged in the second half behind senior guard Tevaughn Higgins’ team-high 16 points, 6 rebounds to beat Hammond, 42-38 at the MLK Bash Monday at Eau Claire High School.

Hammond looked in control in the first half, up 21-14, but the Diamond Hornets outscored the Skyhawks 28-17 in the second half and cruised to the win.

Today’s win was big for LR, which played without five-star recruit Christian Brown (concussion). Coaches I spoke with say Brown should return this week and play Friday against Orangeburg Wilkinson.
