Public invited for tours of C-SPAN bus at UofSC Wednesday

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – The public is invited to stop by the iconic C-SPAN bus on USC’s campus Wednesday, as part of it 50 Capitals Tour.

The 14 month tour is meant to expose Americans to the network’s public service resources, organizers said.

The University said C-SPAN chose to stop at South Carolina’s flagship campus because of its broadcast journalism program.

After a lecture for students of the College of Information and Communications, USC said the bus will open its doors for public tours from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 800 Sumter St.

Visitors will get a chance to check out the broadcasting equipment, including the bus’ large-screen tablets with access to the network’s programming, a TV production studio and a Washington, D.C.-themed selfie station.

You will also be able to share how lawmakers should respond to issues facing the state, as part of C-SPAN’s “Voices from the States” video series.
