UPDATE: Former SC Lawmaker sentenced to probation and community service

COLUMBIA, SC (AP/WOLO)– A former South Carolina lawmaker was sentenced to two years probation and 500 hours of community service for his role in an investigation of corruption at the Statehouse.

Sentencing was set Monday for a former Lexington Rep. Rick Quinn in Beaufort.

Quinn pleaded to misconduct in office in December and faces up to one year in prison, though his lawyers say he deserves no jail time.
