North Charleston Boeing workers vote to unionize

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WOLO) – There is now a union presence at Boeing’s North Charleston plant.

In a rare victory for organized labor in the south, 104 of 169 flight line workers voted to join the International Association of Machinists.

Boeing says it believes the so-called micro-unit is illegal and will appeal.

A plant wide union vote failed in in 2015.
