Columbia, S.C. (WOLO) – The state’s gas tax has increased by 2 cents as of Sunday.
This is the second of 6 planned years of increases to provide more funding for roads and bridges.
In spite of the increases, South Carolina’s gas tax remains one of the lowest in the country at just over 20 cents per gallon.
Last year’s increase was the first in 30 years.
