Local literary parade brings beloved characters to the Midlands

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Some of literature’s most famous characters were on display Tuesday afternoon on the Saluda River.

The Saluda River Academy for the Arts held its annual book parade. Teachers say events like this can go a long way toward instilling a love of reading.

Law enforcement, firefighters, and even some local veterans took part in this year’s parade.
