Richland One host student Rubik’s Cube Speedcubing Competition

COLUMBIA,SC (WOLO)- On Saturday students in the Midlands put their Rubik’s cube skills to the test.

Richland School District One hosted it’s first ever Rubik’s cube Speedcubing competition.

This event is officially sanctioned by rubik’s and featured middle and high school students competing as teams and individuals to solve the cubes in record time.

After only two months of practice, the record for fastest individual within Richland school district one is 56 seconds, but that record was beat on Saturday by 6th grader, Lucas Biel.

Biel won first place by solving the cube in 30 seconds.
