Homeless teen wanted for murder of elderly Orangeburg man
ORANGEBURG,SC (WOLO)- The manhunt continues for a homeless teen wanted for murder.
Deputies say the 17-year-old brutally attacked an elderly man while he was sleeping.
The incident happened Sunday on Amelia Village Road.
Deputies say Tyekiva Harvin woke hit Bobby Huggins,68, in the head with a hammer while he was sleeping in his bedroom.
According to the affidavit Huggins followed Tyekiva to the living room where he was met by an unknown man with a 9MM gun. The suspect shot at him multiple times, hitting him in the stomach and thigh.
Deputies say after the attack Huggins crawled to the bathroom and called 911. Officers found him bleeding out, but the 68-year-old later died during surgery.
The vicious attack has people who live in that Orangeburg community on edge.
“It seems like an inside thing but it will make me be a little more of my surroundings,” James Young said.
Keeping an eye out for Harvin who is now considered armed and dangerous.
Deputies say Harvin has different aliases. Some call her Ty, or Paris Miller.
