MADD rally pushes for stricter penalties for first time DUI offenders

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) – Mother’s Against Drunk Driving rallied on the steps of the Sstate House Tuesday (2/12).

Governor Henry McMaster was on hand for the ‘MADD’ event.

the governor addressed a number of issues including the push for tougher measures.

those include the installation of ignition interlock devices for first time DUI offenders with levels of blood alcohol above .08.

According to MADD, more than 10,000 people die from drunk driving incidents in the nation each year.
