Game of Thrones popularity influencing an increasing amount of US baby names

(CNN) – Game of Thrones is the hottest show on television right now. It’s gotten so popular, fans are naming their children after the characters.

According to data from the Social Security Administration, sword-swinging heroine “Arya” was the 119th-most popular name for girls in the US last year. More than 2,500 babies were given the name.

More than 500 babies were named Khaleesi in 2018, which is the name for queen in the fictional Dothraki language.

More than 500 babies were named Jaime, the Lannister with the golden hand.

Other popular ‘Game of Thrones’ names include Yara and Daenerys. Other names like Tyrion, Jorah, Sansa and Theon got a few babies named after them last year but not a lot.
