COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Columbia Police are looking for an arson suspect accused of setting fires to two homes owned by Governor Henry McMaster on Greene Street.

Authorities say the suspect is a slender white male with brown hair.

Firefighters say the fire has displaced at least 12 people and caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages.

Authorities say Greene Street is still blocked.

Columbia Police Department says they have temporarily blocked off the following intersections: Greene & Barnwell, Devine & Barnwell.

Fire officials say they were dispatched shortly before 6:30 a.m. with the first fire, and the second fire was called in minutes later.

Officials also say all occupants of both homes got out safely.

Firefighters say drivers should seek alternate routes.
