Teens arrested for driving a stolen SUV to steal another vehicle

LEXINGTON CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Lexington County deputies arrested three teens Thursday accused of driving a stolen SUV to steal another vehicle.

Authorities say James Ross, 17, is charged with grand larceny and possession of a stolen vehicle.

According to deputies, two juveniles face the same charges.

Investigators say the three suspects tried to steal a vehicle at the 700 block of Lansford Bay Drive.

However, authorities say they drove away in a stolen SUV when they encountered the homeowner.

Sheriff Jay Koon says the stolen SUV was returned to the owner.

Ross is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.

Authorities say the two juveniles were transported to the S.C. Department of Juvenile Justice.

They’ll appear at the Lexington County Family Court at a later date.
