Columbia, SC (WOLO) —Columbia Police Special Victims Unit (SVU) say a missing 71-year-old man has been found safe at a local homeless shelter.

Authorities say employees saw Maynard McGuinn’s picture on the news where they found him.

Police said McGuinn was reported missing for nearly a week, and suffers from a medical condition that requires daily medication.

According to investigators, McGuinn was checked out by a EMS and he’s heading back home.
