Georgetown County’s emergency response service suspended
GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — Georgetown County has suspended its emergency rescue services for areas south of Highmarket Street that are serviced by Georgetown County Fire and EMS.
They said they’re waiting until wind speeds subside to a safer level before putting crews back on the road.
Those experiencing an emergency is asked to call 9-1-1 to be added to a list.
Rescuers will prioritize calls once services continue.
