More than a thousand troops are headed to Saudi Arabia

(ABC News) — About 15 hundred U.S. troops are headed to Saudi Arabia.
Officials say the leading U.S. military commander in the Middle East made the request several weeks ago after a devastating attack in September on Saudi oil facilities that the u-s has attributed to Iran.

The United States has increased the deployment of forces in the region by 14,000 since May.
