Notre Dame Cathedral closed for Christmas for first time in more than 2 centuries

(CNN) — Parishioners will be attending services elsewhere this year and possibly for many years to come after the famous Notre Dame Cathedral was gutted by a fire in April of this year.

Officials remain hopeful that the church will be restored in just five years.
