12th case of coronavirus confirmed in the US

(CNN) – The deadly coronavirus outbreak continues to worsen as 12 cases of the virus have now been confirmed in the United States.

The latest case was confirmed in Wisconsin Wednesday.

Officials say the patient came in contact with an individual with the virus while traveling in China.

The coronavirus outbreak has killed nearly 500 people worldwide and infected more than 24,000 people in at least 25 countries.
