MLB suspends spring training, delays Opening Day at least two weeks

Major League Baseball is delaying the start of the 2020 regular season by at least two weeks in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the league announced Thursday.

MLB said in a statement that commissioner Rob Manfred has decided to also suspend spring training games starting at 4 p.m. ET Thursday.

Multiple teams have already pulled scouts off the road and sent them home because of coronavirus concerns, sources say. Others have canceled all travel.
