Man arrested for throwing footballs full of tobacco onto prison
Bishopville, S.C. (WOLO)– A spokesperson for the state Department of Corrections says a man is in custody for throwing two footballs filled with contraband onto the grounds at Lee Correctional Institution.
Officials say Rodney Tate, 21, is charged with furnishing contraband to a prisoner and criminal conspiracy.
According to a department spokesperson the balls were filled with tobacco, digital scales, and cigar wrappers.
