Richland Co., SC (WOLO) — The Richland County Sheriff’s Department says a woman that was captured on video assaulting a Comet bus driver in April was arrested.
Officials say Mariah Folk turned herself in on June 11 and charged with assault and 3rd degree battery.
According to RCSD, the incident took place on April 28, while the bus was stopped in the 72 hundred block of Two Notch Road.
The driver told authorities the suspect was complaining about the time of the buses department, she claimed was leaving later than usual.
The driver says as the woman became more enraged, the bus driver told the woman she would not allow her to ride on the bus.
Deputies say the suspect then tried to strike the driver in the face. Although, investigators say the woman missed the drivers face, she ended up hitting the bus driver in the shoulder.
Folk was taken to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
