City distributes close to 12,000 free meals

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– City of Columbia officials say they distributed close to 12,000 free meals to area children of families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The meals were distributed between August 10th and August 28th by the Department of Parks and Recreation, faith-based organizations, and the USDA.
The city also distributed backpacks and school supplies.
