One dead after fatal collision in Orangeburg Sunday

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– South Carolina Highway Patrol says one person died after a fatal collision in Orangeburg Sunday morning. Troopers say it happened on U.S. Highway 321 near Crim Road around 3 a.m.

According to investigators, the driver of a 2014 Kia sedan went off the right side of the road, hit a ditch and a utility pole. Authorities say this caused the vehicle to overturn several times and the driver, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was ejected and died on scene.

The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office is investigating.
