Live music, comedy coming to Columbia in Cola Concerts
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Innovation Arts & Entertainment (iAE) and The Roberts Group have come together to form a new partnership bringing live musicians and comedians to Columbia through their new program, Cola Concerts. Cola Concerts will build a new venue at the Columbia Speedway Entertainment Center in Cayce to host the live events.
The initial lineup of acts will be announced on Tuesday with concerts set to begin November 14. The lineup will be available at colaconcerts.com, where fans can also get access to early tickets.
The Roberts Group is the same organization that brought the Broadway in Columbia series to the Capital City back in 2003.
“When we began talking with Adam and IAE about launching a live entertainment series, the first place we thought of was Columbia,” Daniel Hampel, Managing Director of The Roberts Group. “Every time we bring a show to Columbia the fans are so warm and kind. We couldn’t be happier about bringing live entertainment back to the Soda City.”
Officials say the venue will be able to safely host 3,500 patrons while allowing for social distancing. The venue will also feature two 40-foot digital screens to allow for the showing of live sporting events. The Cola Concert Series is expected to hire about 100 people to run several aspects of the events such as ticketing and security.
