Columbia voting precinct temporarily evacuated due to smoke in building

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Tuesday morning, Columbia fire crews responded to the precinct at Earlewood Park Elementary to a report of smoke in the building. A spokesperson for the fire department says the smoke was caused by an overheated motor in the buildings heating and cooling system.

The building was evacuated so the issue could be repaired and was reopened a short time later.
