Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott tests positive for COVID-19

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Richland County Sheriff’s Department says Sheriff Leon Lott has tested positive for COVID-19. According to the department, Sheriff Lott was originally tested on Friday after learning that a family member tested positive. That original test came back negative. The department says Sheriff Lott was tested again on Wednesday, out of an abundance of caution, and that test came back positive.

Officials say Lott has been quarantining since Wednesday, December 9 as a precaution, and he feels well while resting at home.
