Former Gamecock DB moving on to Big Ten program

Days after former Gamecock defensive back John Dixon put his name in the transfer portal, the ex-Carolina player announced his transfer destination.

Dixon said on social media Monday that he plans to transfer to Penn State. He’ll have three more years to play after spending his freshman and sophomore seasons at South Carolina.

Dixon started eight games in his sophomore year (2020) and totaled 28 tackles and five passes defended.
