Cayce DPS: Man charged in August double homicide

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Cayce Department of Public Safety says a man has been charged in connection with an August 2 shooting incident that left two dead. Investigators say Israel S. Porter, 21, has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.

Authorities say the charges stem from an incident on 1100 block of Allen Street which resulted in the deaths of Isiah Bailey and Khajari Brown. “No parent should have to experience the death of their child. The families and friends of Isiah Bailey and Khajari Brown deserve answers and they deserve to see justice served,” said Cayce DPS Director, Byron Snellgrove.

According to authorities, Porter is in custody in Richland County for an unrelated matter. Officials say he will remain at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center without bond.

Cayce DPS says they believe that members of the community may have more information about the incident, and ask that those with information call Sgt. Cal Thomas at 803-550-9533.
