REPORT: Will Muschamp turns down Texas job

Will Muschamp won’t be returning to the sidelines in Austin, TX according to a report from CBS Sports Monday.

The former Gamecock head coach reportedly turned down an opportunity to become the Longhorns’ newest defensive coordinator under new head coach Steve Sarkesian. Muschamp previously held the defensive coordinator title at Texas under Mack Brown from 2008-10. Muschamp was named Brown’s successor as the Longhorns’ coach-in-waiting, but took the Florida job instead in 2010.

Back in November, South Carolina fired the head coach Muschamp after five seasons and a disappointing two-win season. South Carolina then hired Shane Beamer to replace the outgoing Muschamp.
