Highway Patrol investigating fatal collision on US-378

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a collision that killed one person in Lexington County Tuesday. It happened on US-378 near the intersection of Shorty Road around 6:30 p.m. According to investigators, the driver of a 2019 Chevrolet tried to turn, when another car hit the vehicle on the driver’s side.

Troopers say the driver of the Chevy died on scene, while the second driver was taken to a hospital. Officials say both were wearing seat belts.
