LCSD: Leesville man arrested after being found hiding in a stolen camper

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department says they arrested a Leesville man on Tuesday after he was found hiding in a stolen camper. Deputies say 53-year-old Rex Jason Corder is charged with operating a chop shop and receiving stolen goods.

Deputies say they received a tip about a stolen trailer on a piece of property in the 1300 block of Reed O. Smith Road. Once on the scene, investigators say they executed a search warrant and found the stolen trailer along with a stolen camper and a stolen SUV. Deputies say they found Corder hiding under a bed in the stolen camper.

Authorities say Corder was taken to the Lexington County Detention Center, and the stolen items were returned.
