Resolution that would put teachers in phase 1a of vaccination plan, heading to the House

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The resolution making teachers eligible for the coronavirus vaccine is heading to the House. Last week, the South Carolina Senate voted unanimously for it.

The resolution would put educators and day care staff in phase 1a of the state’s vaccine plan, along with seniors and health care workers. Majority Leader Shane Massey says it would also require all schools to offer in-person classes five days a week after spring break.

Governor Henry McMaster has said he would oppose plans to delay vaccination appointments for seniors because they are more likely to die from the virus.
