Columbia City Council withdraws amendment that would increase fines for non-mask wearers

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The City of Columbia Council met Tuesday afternoon, and the coronavirus was at the top of the agenda. The council decided to withdraw an amendment which would increase the fine to $500 for repeat non-mask offenders.

Mayor Benjamin continues to urge Columbia residents to remain vigilant in fighting against COVID-19.

The Columbia mask mandate is scheduled to stay in effect until mid-April.
