Gilbert High School teacher named finalist for SC Teacher of the Year
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– One Gilbert High School teacher got a huge surprise Wednesday, when she found out she’s been selected as a finalist for the South Carolina Teacher of the Year competition. State Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman made the surprise announcement to Dani Stroud Thursday afternoon.
As one of five finalists, Stroud will receive $10,000, and go on to the next stage of competition, which involves an interview with a team of expert judges. The winner will receive a total of $25,000, and will be announced at the South Carolina Teacher of the Year Gala on May 5.
