OCSO: Third suspect arrested in connection with December home invasion

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office says a third suspect has been arrested in connection with a home invasion that took place on Neeses Highway. Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says 24-year-old Marquis Williams was arrested and charged with first degree burglary, conspiracy, first degree assault and battery, kidnapping, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a weapon convicted of a violent felony. According to investigators, Williams and two others broke into a home on Neeses Highway, assaulted a man and robbed him.

The sheriff says Williams was formally presented his rights during a court appearance Friday.

Officials say 22-year-old Jaquan Tyrique Jackson and 40-year-old Byron Dwayne Felder were both arrested back in January, in connection with this incident, and charged with first degree burglary, conspiracy, first degree assault and battery, kidnapping and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

According to authorities, the three individuals face life in prison for the burglary charge alone.
