Astronaut growing plants on International Space Station
CNN– The International Space Station crew is getting fresh vegetables in space thanks to one of the astronaut’s green thumb. Astronaut Michael Hopkins has been growing two different kinds of greens on the ISS.
With no birds or bees around, he had to pollinate the flowers with a paintbrush. The crops were grown for 64 days, which is the longest leafy greens have ever grown on station.
