Wedgefield man accussed of inappropriately touching a girl under the age of eight

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Sumter Police Department says a Wedgefield man has been arrested after he was accused of inappropriately a girl under the age of eight. Police say 33-year-old Joshua Morris was sent to repair a heating and air unit on North Salem Avenue Monday, where he entered a room with the victim in it, exposed himself and then touched her.

Police say Morris turned himself in Thursday morning and has been charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor, third degree. Authorities say he was booked at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
