Fort Jackson soldier suspended from duties following April arrest for sexual misconduct charge

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Another Fort Jackson solider has been suspended from his duties, after he was arrested back in April. According to base officials, Staff Sergeant Kyle Jacob West faces sexual misconduct charges.

West is the third person from Fort Jackson now facing charges since April. Sergeant Jonathan Pentland was charged for pushing a man in the Summit neighborhood last month and Trainee Jovan Collazo is charged with 19 counts of kidnapping for hijacking a school bus with kids inside on May 6.
