RCSD: Ft. Jackson trainee who hijacked a school bus tried to escape from jail and the hospital

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department say the Fort Jackson trainee who hijacked a school bus tried to escape from jail. Investigators say on Friday, Jovan Collazo punched a guard during an escape attempt from Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. Deputies say he broke his ankle during the attempt.

Authorities say he also tried to escape from an area hospital. Deputies say he is now facing an additional charge of third degree assault and battery.
