Former project director of V.C. Summer nuclear project to plead guilty in federal court Thursday

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– According to acting U.S. Attorney for the District of South Carolina M. Rhett DeHart, former Westinghouse Electric Corporation Vice President and V.C. Summer Nuclear Project Director Carl Dean Churchman is scheduled to plead guilty in federal court on Thursday. Authorities say Churchman is scheduled to plead guilty to making a false statement to the FBI during their investigation of the failed project at the V.C. Summer site.

Churchman’s hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Matthew J. Perry Federal Courthouse in Columbia.
