Eutawville man arrested following deadly hit and run

Orangeburg Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Troopers with the highway patrol say one person was killed when a man driving a U-Haul van struck them head on.

It happened Monday morning on Big Buck Blvd. near Bethel Forest Rd. in Orangeburg Co.

Troopers say Lee Grant Moody, 42, of Eutawville was driving in the wrong lane when he struck the 2014 Honda Accord.

One of the passengers in the Accord was killed.

According to investigators, after the crash Moody took off running but was caught several hours later.

He is charged with Hit and Run involving Death and Hit and Run with Great Bodily Injury.
