South Carolina baseball loses two assistant coaches

South Carolina baseball will need to replace two assistants this offseason.

According to multiple sources Wednesday morning, Gamecocks pitching coach Skylar Meade accepted the head coaching job at Troy, and USC assistant Trip Couch is moving to Arizona to become the Wildcats’ new assistant coach. The news was first reported by The Big Spur’s John Whittle.

Meade had one of the most successful pitching staffs in the SEC this season and interviewed for the job earlier this offseason. He takes over a program that finished 27-26 last season.

Couch will serve under first-year head coach Chip Hale at Arizona.

According to a source Wednesday, the search to replace both coaches begins immediately.
