Contractor shortage in Richland County causes delay in trash and recycling pickup

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– If you live in Richland County and your recycling did not get picked up today, the county says it is due to a contractor shortage. The county announced that due to a shortage of contractors, recycling in some parts of the county would not be picked up until Saturday. County officials say this includes parts of Ballentine and Chapin (Area 1) and sections of the area north and south of Garner’s Ferry Road (Area 6).

Officials say they expect pickup schedules to be on time, starting Monday.

You can call the County Ombudsman’s Office at 803-929-6000 if you have any questions.
