Columbia PD: Pedestrian in critical condition after being struck by vehicle

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Columbia Police Department says a pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle. Officers say they blocked off the 1800 block of Blossom Street and the pedestrian was taken to the hospital.

Police say they believe the 60-year-old man was running across the roadway, attempting to catch his dog.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene.
